The G0759 has a large 7-1/16" x 26-5/8" table that can be moved by handwheels in both the longitudinal and cross directions. Both feed directions can be locked by table lock levers. The G0759 also features tapered gibs with double locks which adds accuracy and rigidity, a dovetail column; and it comes with its own stand.
I have a grizzly G0704 which is a popular conversion to cnc but most people use Mach. As a Linux systems administrator I prefer Linux. I would like to add a position controlled spindle motor. The G0704 comes with a 1HP brushed DC motor. I would like something around 1.5-2kW (2-3HP) that can do rigid tapping and will spin at 5000 rpm.

As far as capability, it is a step above the minimill which I owned and replaced with the G0704. There were some motor overheating issues with the G0704 which Grizzly addressed to my satisfaction. As long as you work within the capability of the machine it works just fine. Good luck in your search for a mill/drill. Phil

The machine (Grizzly G0704 Drill Mill with Stand) looks fine. and is reasonably accurate when it works. Eventually the motor will stop rotating. After checking all the basic possibilities I.E. fuses, connections, speed control potentometer I replaced the motor. This did not fix the problem. I called Grizzly service and they were no help.

Starting with the problematic Y. I cut my gib to length, milled the notch for the screw head and the hole for my oiling system and then fit it in the way. I then carefully adjusted the saddle slide to be smooth with no slop. It took a bit of tweaking but I'm down to about .003" backlash.
