It was a Grizzly piece (#H8107), that was sold for their #G6760 milling machine, which is very similar to the Jet and had to be slightly modified to work. I made a couple of the riser blocks for the 6" x 26" milling machines (Grizzly, Enco, Busy Bee, etc) for some friends.

The Sherline is a very sweet machine but in milling size counts. The 8689 Grizzly machine is both larger and heavier than the Sherline so it wins on that count hands down in my book. The 1005Z that Toolman links in his first reply is very similar to the one I have.

Grizzly G3102 or G3103, the basic 6" x 26" mill, similar to those sold by many others, including Busy Bee (Canada) in the $2500-3000 range. About 1/2 scale compared to a Bridgeport. Very workable. Jet JVM 836 or the Grizzly G6760 (basically the same unit) a 3/4 scale mill with a table thats 8" x 36".
The G6760 looks more like a scaled down version of the Bridgeport's. Machine weight, the G6760 weighs almost 300 lbs more than the G3616. (G6760 machine weight 1620 lbs / G3616 machine weight 1322 lbs) Coolant system, I personally don't care for a coolant system on a mill unless it's used for high production.
