Re making one,would be quite easy to rough out the taper in the lathe and finish it in the Myford.Grind a few thou,try the fit alter angle,grind a few thou,etc etc. Seen one on Ebay UK tonight,first for a while,was round about $600.

Myford offer a Bed re-grinding service to owners of tired and worn Myford Lathes at quite a reasonable cost of around £170, plus carriage both ways of course. The service comprises bed regrinding, including feet and top surface of bed, grind under the shears,and then they individually fine-mill the four vertical shears.

I recently bought an elliott no. 5 tool and cutter grinder. I was not able to find much of anything anywhere on the machine but he did have a manual. There is a UK company Jubilee I believe is the name. THey have the parts from the sale and are selling those. They rebuild and sell all grinders as their business. But the 10" units went out of production in 1972, the 12" units replaced them at that time. I have not read the anyone intends to continue manufacting the Myford units.

If you machine has a 10" wheel, then the internal Spindle mounts in lieu of the Myford badge Photos I have seen large flat pulleys with two steps. Just figure backwards to arrive at a size. You need about 7K rpm for a 2" wheel and 12k for a 1" wheel, Canvas belts need to be made to order. More Myford MG were sold in USA than anywhere else.
