I love epoxy granite machines, just finished building an epoxy granite 3D printer myself. What was your mix composition like? I kept it simple. I also needed it to flow pretty well due to the shape of the frame and mold. 80% deep pour, slow cure epoxy and 20% play sand (by weight) Edit: 80% sand, 20% epoxy.
Waterproofing will be 3 coats of West Marine Epoxy. This is what the boat builders, who have to deal with a lot more water, use for wooden boats. In addition, I have a fair amount of left over epoxy from my adventures in filling the mill base with epoxy-granite. You want the 3 coats to be rolled on pretty thin.
The most common end mill, produces a flat bottom cut that is useful for material removal and finishing of vertical walls. Bull Nose End Mill: Similar to a flat end mill, but with very small radii in the corner that increases tool strength by eliminating thin tips. Good for fast material removal and leaving a small bottom radius on parts.

The epoxy granite is a mixture with epoxy and gravel filler with different grain sizes. The sizes are chosen to make the most possible dense gravel mixture. This saves expensive epoxy and it makes the machine heavier and more stable. One important thing is to make sure that the mold lies flat on a reference surface.
